PCMS Presents: The Future of Medicine Reception

The Pima County Medical Society is bringing together the next generation of physicians and the physicians already practicing and leading in Southern Arizona for our inaugural Future of Medicine Reception on September 24.


Designed for medical students, residents, fellows, and practicing physicians, the evening will create an opportunity to step outside of the classroom and clinical setting to build connections, ask questions, exchange perspectives, and have meaningful conversations about what it means to build a career in medicine today.


More Than a Networking Event

The Future of Medicine is designed to strengthen Southern Arizona's physician community by creating connections across different stages of a medical career.


Throughout the evening, attendees will have the opportunity to meet local physicians and community leaders through interactive discussion tables focused on topics that play an important role in a physician's professional life but may not always be covered in traditional medical training.


Discussion topics will include:

  • Business of Medicine & Financial Literacy
  • Specialty Exploration
  • Community Engagement
  • Civic Health
  • Public Health & Civil Service
  • Physician Wellness & Burnout Prevention


Rather than formal presentations, these conversations are intended to give attendees an opportunity to ask questions, hear directly from experienced physicians, and learn from those practicing and leading within the Southern Arizona medical community.


Building Connections Across Generations of Medicine

For students, residents, and fellows, the evening is an opportunity to meet physicians outside of their immediate training environments, explore different career paths, and begin building relationships within the local medical community.


For practicing physicians, it is an opportunity to share experience, offer mentorship, and help support the physicians who will shape the future of medicine in Pima County and beyond.


PCMS hopes the Future of Medicine Reception will be the beginning of even more opportunities to connect physicians at every stage of their careers and strengthen the physician community throughout Southern Arizona.

PCMS Membership Meeting | February 5th, 2026

The Pima County Medical Society will host its upcoming PCMS Membership Meeting on Thursday, February 5 , bringing members together for an evening of connection, updates, and discussion about the Society’s direction moving forward. This meeting will provide members with an opportunity to hear updates from PCMS leadership, including current initiatives, plans for 2026, and ongoing efforts to strengthen advocacy, engagement, and professional connection for physicians practicing in Pima County. Attendees will also have the opportunity to ask questions and share feedback as PCMS continues its work during this period of growth and transition. As PCMS looks ahead, leadership is actively exploring expanded committee opportunities, continued local advocacy efforts, and new ways for members to become more involved with the Society. Member participation and input remain essential as PCMS works to ensure it continues to reflect the needs and priorities of the local medical community. Additional details regarding the meeting agenda and logistics will be shared with members in advance. PCMS encourages all members to attend and take part in shaping the future of the Society.
