Let's face it, it's not easy to be a physician anymore. Outside forces such as managed care and
government have forced doctors to look for ways to manage practice overhead hoping to
improving the bottom line.
All of us at The Pima County Medical Society understand your situation and have taken steps to
help cut your practice costs and assist you in your every-day practice through our Services
Division.
Take a few minutes to look over these brief descriptions of some of the programs and services we
offer. Each is specially designed for our membership, and only our membership!
Group Health Insurance. You won't find better rates anywhere.
Underwritten by Blue Cross/Blue Shield the PCMS group medical insurance plan offers very
competitive rates and features a PPO and two HMO plans. While you're at it, also ask about the
limited group life/accidental death coverage.
Disability Insurance. Physicians are finding it more and more difficult to
get "good" disability insurance or even find an insurance company willing to write a policy.
Don't fret, PCMS has found a carrier interested in working with our physician organization.
Through Union Central Life Insurance Co. PCMS can now offer a 15% discount off normal
premium rates. Union Central's policy provides excellent definitions of disability and it's non-
cancelable plus it's guaranteed renewable to age 65.
Long-term Care. Various levels of coverage available through Illianz Life.
Offered to PCMS members, their employees, and families. Check it out.
Group Purchasing Program. Through a cooperative venture with
McKesson/General Medical, one of this nation's leading medical suppliers, we are able to provide
you with significant discounts on medical supplies, pharmaceuticals (both name brand and
generic) and durable medical equipment. We are saving our members between 10 and 20 percent.
Medical Society Placement Service: Looking for that special person to fill
a permanent, part time or temporary position in your practice? Call us. We can make the process
simple and painless, and as a member of the society you receive our "special" rates. We prescreen
candidates, check their education, work history and perform a pre-interview before sending

Medical Records Storage: A fantastic program that's saving members
between 30 and 300 percent on medical records storage. By the way, you can also store financial
records, X-rays, etc.
Wireless Phone Services. We offer very competitive mobile phone
packages through AT&T. You can't find a better program anywhere especially when you consider
the value-added products and services that are available to members. And, there are NO
CONTRACTS.
Collection Agency: Pima and Maricopa County Medical Societies have
joined together to offer our membership discounted rates on collection services. The program is
call Bureau of Medical Economics. BME has been the collection agency of choice since 1951 for
more than 700 Arizona physicians and a number of major Tucson and Phoenix hospitals.
Answering Service & Pagers. Competitive rates and service, as well as
voice mail and other options. And get this, it's a local company. No dealing with out-of-state
services. Try and get out-of– state companies on the phone when you have a complaint or request.

Patient Referrals. We make more than 5,000 patient referrals every year.
PCMS is "the" community resource for physician information and referral. As a member you
will be on our list of physicians for referrals.
Sombrero Magazine. Each month our physicians receive a copy of our
monthly slick magazine that is specifically written for and about our membership. It features a
multitude of columns that can enhance your knowledge of society activities and its members,
improve the bottom line for your practice and even help you sell unwanted personal or office
items free of charge. The society also produces a membership pictorial directory to aid in peer
identification, member recognition in the community and referral assistance.
Business Announcement / Public Relations. If you're spending valuable
dollars on outside firms to help you in your PR efforts, put your money back in your pocket. We
will assist you with the development of newspaper press releases or announcements about your
private practice at no charge. We'll even consult with you about other marketing efforts you may
have in mind including print and electronic promotions.

internet WEB site! Give us a call we can provide consulting services that will bring your site one
line, on time and without breaking the bank.
Conference Facilities. Wondering where to have that meeting? We offer
members reduced rates for the use of our meeting rooms.
Notary Public. A service provided to members free of charge. The use of
our office equipment, secretarial services are available at more than competitive fees.
News Clipping File. This service helps provide medically related news
items to committees, individual physicians and the public. Need some help in your research -
give us a call.
General Information. At times you will have a "professional" question
that cries out for a quick answer. We can usually provide an answer to your question/s
immediately if you give us a call. If not, we'll research it and report our findings to you in a short
turnaround time.
